How much more water do I need in hot weather?

In hot conditions (30°C/86°F+), add 500 mL daily. In very hot conditions (35°C/95°F+), add 1000 mL daily. In extreme heat with exertion, needs can double or triple. Monitor urine color — it should stay pale yellow.

Does humidity affect water needs?

Yes. High humidity reduces sweat evaporation, making cooling less efficient. You may sweat more and lose more fluid. In humid heat, lean toward the higher end of climate adjustments.

What about high altitude?

At altitude (above 2,500 m/8,200 ft), you lose more water through increased respiration and urination. Add 500–1000 mL daily. Altitude also blunts thirst sensation, so drink proactively.

Does air conditioning reduce water needs?

Air conditioning reduces sweat loss indoors, but moving between AC and outdoor heat creates stress. If you spend most time in AC, use "Temperate." If outdoors frequently, use "Hot."
